Simple, but not easy?

Simple, but not easy?

Often, the solution to our problems is simple, but that does not mean it is easy.

Could I cross this river?

In the video below, I was walking across the Desert of Death in China when I reached this river. I had expected it to be a little bit wide, but that I would be able to wade it without trouble.

I was carrying a 30kg rucksack.

My first reaction when I saw it was to feel paralysed and think:

“This is impossible. There is no way I can cross this river with my heavy rucksack.”

Thankfully, I then had a second reaction:

It’s got to be possible.”

The video shows what I did next.

I often share this story in my virtual and on-stage motivational talks, and it’s amazing how it relates to so many situations and challenges in life and work.

Simple, but not easy – how about you?

What is the great challenge you’re facing right now?

What is the solution that is simple but not easy?
