Taking the next 10 steps.
In this long, middle, tiring, tiresome stage of the pandemic (the novelty has worn off, hasn’t it), here is an easy and obvious tip to boost motivation:
Write down your long, medium, short term goals. You can make them realistic, but be sure to keep them challenging enough to be satisfying to achieve.
So what’s your next three steps?
It doesn’t have to be overly complicated. You can begin by doing the following.
Write down three of:
Things you would like to achieve this week
Bigger things you would like to achieve in the next month
Even bigger things you would like to achieve by year’s end
I have found this exercise very helpful on expeditions over the years. As the middle phase of an expedition is always long and slow going, and it feels like no progress is being made, I made it a point to set a goal for myself in the short, medium, and long term.
