Thinking like an adventurer can help one survive and thrive in an expedition.
Contrary to what many think, one’s environment in an expedition really doesn’t matter that much. There will always be some techniques that one can implement through different topographies and climates.
For example, there are tips on how to survive in the cold. You wear enough clothes, keep moving, eat lots, and stay aware of when your fingers or toes are going numb. It’s quite simple really!

However, behind the techniques, I found that there is a way of thinking that embraces challenges, prioritises adapting, and focuses on surviving and thriving. I call that way of thinking “Thinking like an Adventurer.” And the great thing about it is anyone can learn to do it!
I believe it is so vital for thriving in today’s fast-changing business world. That is why it was great fun to reflect on and share about Thinking Like An Adventurer in front of three amazing audiences, twice for BNP Paribas in Hong Kong and Singapore, and once for Mubadala in Abu Dhabi.
