Kicking Off 2026 at Full Speed (and Learning to Slow Down)

Kicking off 2026 has barely begun, and it’s already been a whirlwind.

I’ve been lucky enough to start the year speaking in some incredible places: Malaysia with The British Schools Foundation and Zurich with Swiss Re. Then I spent the weekend wrapping up the run (quite literally) at the Hong Kong Marathon this past Sunday.

The marathon was a big personal moment. I crossed the finish line in 3 hours and 30 minutes, which is four minutes faster than last year. Considering I’m also a year older, I’ll happily take that as a win. Progress doesn’t always look dramatic, but sometimes it’s measured in a few hard-earned minutes and a lot of quiet persistence.

Honestly though, I think I may have pushed a little too hard. Today, I feel… rough. It’s a familiar lesson, and one I talk about often in my work — cultivating a self-care habit. Knowing when to push, and knowing when to pause. Funny how the lessons we teach most are often the ones we need to relearn ourselves, again and again.

What’s next? Thankfully, plenty to look forward to. Over the coming months, I’ve got speaking engagements lined up in Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Manila, and San Diego. New rooms, new audiences, new conversations. I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Here’s to kicking off 2026 to be a year of meaningful connections and remembering that taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury. It’s absolutely a part of the job!
